COMING FALL 2026

The story of how one symbol can rally a legion of fans to elevate their team to greatness.

What is The Student Section?

Forged in 2011, the original custom-cast chrome “O Chain” is instantly recognizable. In a sea of endless green and yellow, its brilliance shines loud and bright.

A symbol of unity and strength, the chain embodies a victorious rallying cry heard by all who set foot in our house: “Gather ‘round and cheer her, chant her glory, Oregon!”

Six UO Pit Crew leaders have carried the legendary chain on their shoulders. Each has faced challenges in their own ways, and ultimately, each has left a legacy of student community, leadership, and unabashed fandom around what it means to be the face of the fiercest student section in the country.

Why so bare bones right now?

We have a trove of absolutely amazing video footage to include in this film. However, each clip must be properly licensed before we can bring it to you.

The more early contributors we have, the more clips we will be able to share as early teasers, film promos, and include in the final cut of The Student Section.

How can I help make this film?

Right now, the future of this film is in your hands. These are some easy ways to help us that will go a long, long way:

  • Be an early contributor. Every dollar is critical at this beginning stage of production.

  • Share this website with your network of Duck fans and ask them to join you in becoming an early contributor.

  • Share this website with your circle of Duck fans to spread the word about this film.

  • Follow us on social media for awesome BTS pics, sneak peeks, and updates.

Our team’s effort, so far…

We wouldn’t ask anyone to contribute to the making of The Student Section before we’ve put our own money down.

Our Executive Producers have invested a very significant amount of time and money to get to where we are today. We’ll continue to put our own resources into this film throughout the entire filmmaking process.

We’re excited for you to join us! It’ll take an entire flock to bring this film to a screen near you!

Does the University of Oregon and Big Ten Network know about this film?

Yes! Our team is working with the University of Oregon, UO Athletics, and Big Ten Networks to make sure that all content in this documentary is fully and properly licensed. We’re making this film the right way in order to include all the awesomeness we can possibly fit into this feature-length film!

Who is involved with this project?

So far, this film features the 2024/25 UO Pit Crew Executive Team (Ana Burt, Ocean Eisenberg, Kenny Vuong), Pit Crew Co-Founder Nate Jolly, current UO Football athlete Kilo Hassenritter, and the list continues to grow. We’ve got a lot of big names in store, and we’re incredibly excited to share updates when we’re cleared to let you know!

Ana Burt, Class of ‘25

UO Pit Crew President

Ocean Eisenberg, Class of ‘25

UO Pit Crew Vice-President

Kenny Vuong, Class of ‘25

UO Pit Marketing Chair

Where does the money go?

It takes a lot of money to make a great film, and we want to make the most visually exciting, O-throwing, make-you-wanna-shout movie as possible. That means we get to sift through the archives and license as much vintage PAC-12 and current B1G game footage as it takes to tell this story. The more money we are able to raise, the more amazing UO moments we’ll be able to include in this film.

We are also producing a lot of interviews. Lots and lots of interviews. We began early sit-downs in July 2024, and we already have some AMAZING footage! However, interviews will need to continue for the next 12-14 months. Each of these takes a full talented crew, from scheduling and logistics to research to location setup to conducting the interview.

After the interviews, we move into post-production. This includes highly specialized technical work like editing, motion graphics and animation, color correction and grade, original music composition, sound design, and final sound mixing.

Your contribution will help to make this process possible. Without you, this film would simply remain a “wouldn’t that be cool to do” idea. We are ever grateful for your generosity to help get this film from the foundations our team has built, all the way to the final cut.

The perks of contributing…

You’re here early. Let’s recognize that. How can we possibly thank you for your loyalty and support? Here are just some of the things we have in mind.

• Special recognition with your name early in the movie credits.

• Invitation to early screenings.

• Special VIP invitation to premiere of The Student Section.

• Limited edition The Student Section swag
